Italian forests ravaged by storms; almost 15 million m3 damages
In the past week, the storm Vaia in northeastern Italy has ravaged some forests, especially in the Dolomites. The hardest hit is apparently in the north of Veneto, in the province of Belluno. Similarly, from the west of Belluno in South Tyrol and Trentino to the eastern Friuli-Venezia Giulia, heavy wind throws were reported.    The daily Südtirol News quotes Italian director of civil protection Angelo Borrelli in its online edition.
