Södra sees a increase increase in spruce bark beetle damage
A late summer swarming caused a widespread spruce bark beetle outbreak and Södra now sees a significant increase in damage. An inventory in late October shows a 25-percent increase in the volume of damaged forest compared with the inventory in late August. According to Södra, removing as many infested trees as possible before the spring swarming starts is now critical.
