US hardwood exporters declare readiness for EUDR

US hardwood exporters have gained a common system for documenting legality, deforestation risk and geographic origin as the European Union prepares to apply the EUDR to large and medium-sized companies from December 30, 2026. The platform could remove one of the main obstacles facing a sector supplied by millions of small private forest holdings, although it does not transfer the importer’s legal responsibility for individual consignments. The American Hardwood Export Council has placed its American Hardwood Assured platform into operation, giving US exporters a standardised method for preparing legality and deforestation documentation for shipments destined for Europe ...
