Lithuanian MDF/HDF plant pushes Homann deep into the red

Homann Holzwerkstoffe recorded a sharp deterioration in earnings in the first half of 2026, despite maintaining revenue close to the previous year’s level. Heavy start-up losses at its new Lithuanian plant, rising material costs and weaker demand from furniture manufacturers pushed the wood-based panel producer into negative EBITDA.

Group revenue reached €194.4 million in January–June, compared with €195 million one year earlier. The near-flat figure conceals a decline in sales volumes, partly offset by higher selling prices introduced as production costs rose.

Homann’s adjusted operating EBITDA dropped from €22.1 million to a loss of €1.4 million. Its operating result moved from a €9.1 million profit to a €17.5 million loss, while the consolidated net loss widened to €29.4 million from €2.7 million in H1 2025.
