China’s log and lumber imports rise month-on-month in March, but remain below 2024 levels
According to China Customs data, the country imported 5.45 million cubic meters of logs and lumber in March 2025—down 9% year-on-year but up 21% compared to February. The total import value reached USD 1.1 billion, falling 11.4% year-on-year but increasing 19% from February. March log imports stood at 3.17 million m³, down 6% from March 2024 but 21% higher than in February. Average unit prices for logs fell by 7%.
