Vida Ab cuts log prices in southern Sweden for first time in a decade
Swedish sawmill giant Vida Ab has announced reductions in log prices in southern Sweden, marking the first price drop in ten years. Vida’s CEO Jörgen Henriksson told Swedish financial newspaper ATL that tight conditions in the sawn timber market are the main reason behind the decision. Despite spring usually being the peak season for plank sales, demand has fallen short of sawmills’ expectations this year.
