Trends in the European wood pellet market
Due to their location at seaports and limited domestic production, the large power utilities in the United Kingdom and Belgium are sourcing over 75 percent of their pellet demand from non-EU suppliers. Despite their significant domestic production, the Scandinavian countries, mainly Denmark and Sweden, partly depend on imports from the Baltic Region and Russia.
