Sweden expands softwood lumber exports to UK, deliveries to China collapse
In the second quarter of 2021, Sweden was able to restore its exports of softwood lumber to almost 2020 levels. Supplies to foreign markets amounted to 3.677 million m³, although exports in the first quarter were 12% lower than in the same period of 2020. The key factor in stabilizing exports was a noticeable increase in supplies to European countries - plus 21.1% to 2.340 million m³.
