Storms and bark beetle are expected to damage 30 million m3 of Germany’s forests
By April 2019, 13 million m3 of damaged wood has been reported in Germany so far, mostly due to storms or instects. This is the result of a survey of the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture (BMEL) in the federal states. According to state secretary Michael Stübgen, a similar amount of wood damage has to be expected as in the previous year.
