Stora Enso has suspended some of its logging operations
An environmental violation was discovered at a Stora Enso harvesting site on Thursday 15 August, in Kainuu, Finland. Contrary to the harvesting guidelines, forestry machinery has crossed a river where there is a population of the highly endangered freshwater pearl mussel. The violation is being investigated as a serious nature conservation crime.
