Setra cuts Hasselfors sawmill production by half, 50 jobs affected
Fifty employees at Setra Group’s sawmill in Hasselfors, in southwestern Närke, are being given notice of termination. “A necessary step,” says CEO Marcus Westdahl. The workforce at Setra’s Hasselfors sawmill will be reduced from 107 to 57 positions as the company is forced to cut production to just over half of its previous level. According to a company press release, the background to the decision is the continued weakness of the global construction market and economic uncertainty.
