Metsä Group launches hundreds of millions in spending cuts – “The program does not include closures of production plants”
Metsä Group has launched a cost savings and performance improvement program targeting annual savings of approximately €300 million, to be implemented in stages starting in 2026. The move comes in response to weak long-term profitability and an uncertain market outlook. The planning phase is expected to conclude by the end of the current quarter. The program will focus on reducing procurement and logistics costs, optimizing the wood supply chain, and lowering fixed costs.
