Kronospan’s Sebeş sawmill received timber from protected forests, EIA reports

The Sebeş sawmill in Romania, currently operated by Kronospan, continues to receive timber from protected areas, including national parks and old-growth forests, according to an analysis by the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA). The findings, based on Romania’s SUMAL timber traceability system, indicate that the facility has received tens of thousands of cubic meters of wood from Natura 2000 areas such as Făgăraș and Frumoasă.
