Indian log market slows with early monsoon

India’s log market has softened in recent weeks, largely due to an early onset of the monsoon season, which traditionally hampers construction activity and disrupts supply chains. At Kandla port, log arrivals are expected to decline to just five vessels in July. Demand for kiln-dried sawn timber from Europe is weakening as the Euro strengthens, making European lumber less price-competitive in India.
