Hardwood lumber exports from U.S. to China go 40% down during Q1/2019

Hardwood lumber exports from U.S. to China fell 39.8% y-o-y to 352.0 thousand m3 in first quarter with exports value declined 41.9% to $218.4 million.  Chinese share in U.S. total hardwood lumber exports decreased 12.6 pp to 42.1%, according to USDA data.  In the first three months of 2019, the total U.S. hardwood lumber exports dropped 21.8% to 836.0 thousand m3 with exports value fell 23.8% to $484.6 million.  Chinese tariffs to hit hard the US hardwood industry  ...
