European softwood lumber exports to US rise by 30%
A booming demand in the US doubled by insufficient wood availability on the North American continent to satisfy the high lumber needs has created opportunities for the European sawmills expand exports overseas. Accordingly, in January-February 2021, European shipments to the US increased by 30 % (up to 1.1 million cubic meters) as compared to the first two months of 2020.
