European softwood lumber exports to the USA almost doubled in the first seven months of the year, with the pace of growth lower in valuer terms, as export prices have been slightly lower as compared to last year. (see price chart below).
The volume of European softwood lumber exports from January to July 2022 was 96% higher yoy and reached a total of over 5 million cubic meters, while in value European lumber shipments to the US increased by 75% (up to EUR 1.5 billion).
