New regulations introduced by the European Union are set to significantly impact the import of wood products, including softwood and hardwood lumber and panels, potentially disrupting trade with foreign suppliers. The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which was enacted in December 2022 and came into effect in June 2023, will begin full enforcement on December 30, 2024.
