Estonia: Construction recovery lifts softwood lumber sales
Softwood lumber sales in Estonia are gaining pace as the country’s construction sector begins to recover from last year’s slowdown, industry representatives say. Developers are moving ahead with residential and commercial projects that had been postponed, creating new demand for lumber suppliers. “Several major developments that were on hold have restarted this summer, and that’s clearly visible in our order volumes,” said Toomas Pärtel, CEO of Puumarket, one of Estonia’s leading building material retailers.
