China’s log imports from US plunge 90% in June due to phytosanitary ban, trade tensions

China’s imports of U.S. wood fell by over 90% year-on-year in June, with log shipments virtually collapsing, as phytosanitary restrictions and renewed bilateral trade tensions reshape global timber flows. According to customs data, wood imports from the U.S. dropped to just 32,700 cubic metres in June, down 90.3% from a year earlier.
