German industry voices grow louder against EU deforestation law
Opposition to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is intensifying in Germany, as associations from both the wood packaging and mechanical engineering industries warn that the law threatens to overburden companies with excessive bureaucracy and unrealistic compliance requirements. The Federal Association of Wood Packaging, Pallets, Export Packaging (HPE) has sent a letter to Agriculture Minister Alois Rainer urging an immediate halt to the EUDR until workable solutions are in place.
