Denmark braces for 20% increase in pallet prices amid new packaging rules
The Danish timber sector is warning of substantial financial pressures following the implementation of new packaging regulations that took effect on January 1 as part of the EU Packaging Directive. According to the Danish Timber Packaging Association (DTE), the extended producer responsibility (EPR) rules will transfer cost burdens to the manufacturer whose name or label appears on the packaging, even if the design and specifications are determined by the customer.
