Komatsu Forest lays off 90 workers at Umeå plant
Komatsu Forest has issued layoff notices to 90 employees at its Umeå plant following the rejection of a company proposal by union IF Metall that could have avoided dismissals. The company offered a 12% wage reduction and two unpaid days off per week to prevent terminations, but the union declined. As a result, 63 permanent employees and 27 temporary staff were laid off, while around 100 white-collar workers were placed on short-term leave.
