Poland faces high costs as EU deforestation rules near implementation
Poland’s wood sector is bracing for major financial and operational burdens as the European Union’s new anti-deforestation regulation (EUDR) moves toward full implementation. The rules, adopted in June 2023, will apply to large and medium-sized companies across the bloc from Dec. 30, 2025, and require detailed monitoring of the origins of raw materials including wood, coffee, cocoa and other commodities.
