Trump tariffs and weak demand trigger €350 million quarterly loss for Finland’s Metsä Group

Global forestry giants are under mounting pressure from shifting trade policies and declining market demand. Finland’s Metsä Group has issued a profit warning, reporting a €35 million operating loss for the second quarter of 2025—marking a dramatic €116 million reversal from the €81 million profit recorded in Q1.
