German manufacturer Homanit to build first U.S. MDF plant
Homanit, a leading German producer of wood-based panels, has announced plans to invest $250 million in a new manufacturing facility in Clarendon County, South Carolina — its first operation in the United States. The facility will be built on a 140-acre site near the rural community of Alcolu, just off Interstate 95, and is expected to create 300 new jobs when it opens in 2028.
