Less wood, more debt in Poland’s wood industry
The condition of Poland’s wood industry is deteriorating rapidly. According to the National Debt Register (KRD), unpaid debts of companies in the sector now exceed PLN 100 million (approx. EUR 23 million), with the situation having worsened especially in recent months. “In recent years, the industry's debts were at their lowest in July 2022, when they stood at PLN 68 million (approx. EUR 15.6 million). After that, they fluctuated, but since the beginning of 2025 they have only been increasing,” reports KRD.
