The Plößberg sawmill—previously the largest in Europe—has resumed operations following Ziegler's insolvency. Wood industry company Rettenmeier aims to make the facility profitable in a slightly downsized form. The sawmill in Plößberg, located in the Tirschenreuth district, is back in operation. During a site visit in the afternoon, Stephan Lang, CEO of the new owner Rettenmeier Holding, provided insight into the restarted facility.
