EU delays tariffs against U.S. products

The European Union has postponed its initial countermeasures against the United States, originally set to take effect in early April, until mid-April. This delay allows the EU additional time to reconsider which U.S. goods will be targeted and provides further space for negotiations between the two sides. The European Commission had planned to reinstate 2018 tariffs on approximately €4.5 billion ($4.9 billion) worth of U.S. products on April 1, followed by another set of tariffs worth €18 billion, effective April 13.
