Mixed signals in China’s log import market
China softwood log inventory has grown to just over 4m m3 with log demand at the end of February still not fully recovered after the Chinese New Year holiday period. Log stocks are still rising slightly as log demand is about 40k m3 per day. The CFR price for A grade logs through February was in the range 118-120 USD per JASm3 for A grade.
