China: Sharp fall in log and lumber imports from the EU
According to China Customs, log and lumber imports from the European Union (EU) dropped significantly between January and September 2024. China’s log imports from the EU decreased by 37%, reaching 3.616 million cubic meters during this period. Among the major suppliers, log imports from Germany, Poland, France, Denmark, and the Czech Republic experienced the steepest declines.
