The mood in the German wood industry improved slightly in December 2023 compared to the previous month. Although companies were less satisfied with the current business situation than in the previous month, they were more optimistic about the first half of 2024. The assessment of the current situation fell slightly  to –28.9 points (previous month: –27.9 points). The outlook for the next six months, however, has brightened significantly; the current value is -25 points (previous month: -33.8 points).
