Mayr-Melnhof completes acquisition of Bergkvist Siljan; becomes Europe’s 3rd sawmill group
The Austrian competition authorities approved the acquisition of Bergkvist Siljan AB by Mayr-Melnhof Holz, one of the leading companies in the European sawmill and wood processing industry, thus completing the acquisition. Mayr-Melnhof Holz Holding AG, headquartered in Leoben, Austria, signed the contract in December last year to acquire the Swedish sawmill group Bergkvist Siljan AB (publ.) The production units in Insjön, Mora and Blyberg (all in Dalarna) complement the existing sawmills in Leoben (Austria), Paskov (Czech Republic), and Efimovkij (Russia), making Mayr-Melnhof Holz, with 5 million cubic meters of timber ...
