Latvia: Exports of wood products hit record value due to booming prices
The Latvian timber industry was the sector with the fastest growth in export value last year, recovering from a difficult 2020. Kristaps Klaus, Executive Director of the Latvian Timber Industry Federation, said in May 2020 the restrictions caused by Covid-19 had severely affected the forest sector and exports. The situation was diametrically opposed in 2021.
