China’s sawnwood imports dropped sharply in H1/2020

  According to China Customs data, China imported 17 million cubic metres of sawnwood in the first half of 2020, a decline of 8% compared with the same period in 2019, at a value of US$3.7 billion (a drop of 17%, year-on-year).  The average price of imported sawnwood was US$217 per cubic metre, down by 7% over the same period in 2019.  Sawn softwood imports fell by 10% in the first six months of 2020, to 12.7 million cubic metres, which was 75% of the total volume of imported sawnwood ...
