Rosewood harvesting, transport and export in Ghana have been banned

Ghana's government has placed a total ban on the harvesting, processing and export of rosewood with immediate effect.  The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has directed the Forestry Commission to stop processing export permits for rosewood.  The Ministry has indicated that ‘salvage permits’ would be issued for rosewood log stocks.
