Winter kept a grip on many regions and key markets, but sales of framing lumber in US picked up in some species nonetheless. A sense that winter’s days were numbered among traders of western species and Canadian S-P-F fueled wholesaler short covering in both cash and futures.  Gains on the board Wednesday and Thursday helped bolster confidence among some buyers, but not all, particularly those still struggling with the weather.
