Chinese plywood presence on the US market crashes due to countervailing duties

   US hardwood plywood imports from China have plunged this year after massive anti-dumping and countervailing duties took effect in early January.   Having accounted for 58% of total US hardwood imports including Canada in 2016, China’s share has now declined to 14%.  Indonesia emerged this year as the most common foreign supplier of hardwood plywood to the US market with shipments surging 70% this year to 420,451m3.
