Denmark expects rising trends in its timber industry

According to the Danish Timber Trade Federation, Denmark is enjoying 2% annual GDP growth and its construction sector is optimistic again after several years of crisis.  The timber sector is benefitting accordingly with a rise in both import and consumption of wood products, both from within and outside the EU. Prices are also trending upwards in softwood, hardwood and certain panel products.  In 2017, Denmark imported wood and wood furniture products to a total value of €2.37 billion, nearly 10% more than in 2016.
