The German parquet manufacturers recorded a decline in production during the first half of 2017.  According to the Federal Statistical Office, the production volume of the German parquet industry fell by 7.2% from January to June 2017, as compared to the same period of the previous year, down to 3.86 million square meters.  The multi-layer parquet, in particular, contributed to the negative overall result, with a minus of 7.6%, to 3.58 million square meters.
