US softwood lumber shipments to China down by 50%
In the first half of 2015, US softwood lumber exports to China dropped nearly 50% to 247,290 cubic metres, valued at US$64 million, as compared to the corresponding period of 2014. According to the US Softwood Export Council (SEC), YoY American softwood lumber shipments to India increased 52% in volume (to 28,696 cubic metres) and 57% in value (to US$6.5 million).
