Nine in ten Swedish sawmills operating at a loss, Vida CEO says
Sweden’s sawmilling industry is facing some of its toughest conditions in decades, with most mills losing money as high raw material costs, weak construction demand and currency headwinds weigh heavily on profitability. According to Vida AB’s chief executive, Måns Johansson, as many as nine out of ten sawmills in Sweden are currently operating at a loss.
