Japan’s softwood lumber imports fell in the first four months of 2026, with lower volumes recorded from the country’s main supplying regions.
According to Japan’s Forestry Agency data based on Ministry of Finance trade statistics, Japan imported 1.06 million m³ of softwood lumber in January–April 2026, down 9% from 1.17 million m³ in the same period of 2025.
