Hardwoods become more and more important especially in Germany. To secure the source of wood in the coming years facing climate change they are suitable for remodelling the woods by planting and turning them into mixed populations.  In the long run there will be more hardwood available because of that and the saw mills will find themselves in a challenging situation, to produce economically based on the changed circumstances.
