IKEA’s answer to Europe’s furniture slump: Cut prices!

IKEA is launching a major price-cutting programme across Europe, committing EUR 1.2 billion to lower prices in more than 20 markets from September. Selected furniture and home furnishing products will become around 15–25% cheaper, as the world’s largest furniture retailer attempts to stimulate volumes in a European market still constrained by weak consumer spending and subdued housing activity.
