Germany: Prices for wood pellets stay high due to wintry weather
The colder temperatures have caused a price increase for wood pellets in Germany during February. The national average price has reached the value of EUR 253.03/tonne, 0.7% more than in the previous month and 0.1% less than in February 2016. According to the German Energy Wood and Pellet Association e. V. (DEPV), in February, a kilogram of wood pellets costs 25.30 cents, while one kilowatt hour (kWh) of heat from wood pellets costs 5.06 cents.
