Furniture sales in Germany decreased during 2013
The turnover of the German furniture industry has declined by -3,7 percent in 2013. Dirk Uwe Klaas, the managing director of the German Federation of the furniture industry (VDM), says that 528 medium-sized furniture companies had sales in 2013 worth EUR 16,1 billion. This is EUR 600 million less than in 2012 (EUR 16,7 billion). The German furniture industry employeed 86,000 men and women, which represents a decline of -1,1%. ''The manufacturers are standing firmly, despite these difficult times mainly caused by weak sales to Europe'' said Klaas.   ...
