West Fraser cuts quarterly loss as lumber and panel markets strengthen

West Fraser delivered a stronger second quarter as improving market conditions across its core wood products businesses helped significantly reduce losses and return every major operating segment to positive adjusted EBITDA. While residential construction continues to face pressure from high borrowing costs and affordability challenges, the company reported better pricing, stronger mill performance and improving demand across several product categories.
