Germany’s softwood lumber exports pivot to US as European demand weakens
Germany exported about 4.73 million cubic meters (cbm) of softwood lumber in the first seven months of 2025, up 1% from 4.69 million cbm a year earlier. Export revenues rose 17% year-on-year to €1.3 billion, driven mainly by booming sales to North America, even as shipments to the European Union fell sharply.
