EU targets U.S. wood products with retaliatory tariffs in €26 billion trade dispute

 Up to $1 billion of forest products could be subject to tariffs in the coming 30 days after the European Union hit the United States with “strong and proportionate” tariffs on a range of products. The European Commission has announced a sweeping package of retaliatory tariffs on U.S. exports, escalating trade tensions following Washington’s decision to impose 25% duties on EU steel and aluminum.
